Our Story

Kitwek Association Community

Building Community Across Continents

The Kitwek Association was established to serve the Kalenjin community members who have migrated from Kenya to Western Australia. Our journey began with a simple yet powerful vision: to create a home away from home, where our people could find support, preserve their cultural identity, and thrive in their new environment.

As migrants, we faced the challenge of balancing our rich Kalenjin heritage with our new Australian identity. The Kitwek Association emerged as a bridge, connecting our past with our present and future, ensuring that our children grow up knowing their roots while embracing their Australian home.

Over the years, we have grown from a small group of families to a vibrant, active community organization. We organize cultural events, provide support services, facilitate networking opportunities, and work tirelessly to ensure that every member of our community feels valued, supported, and connected.

Our association is built on the principles of unity, mutual support, and cultural preservation. We believe that by coming together, we can achieve more than we ever could alone, and we can create a legacy that honors both our Kenyan heritage and our Australian future.
